Miners Arms

Situated in the heart of the village, the Miners Arms is an 18th Century inn run by hosts, Ian and Sandra.  The Miners is, first and foremost, a pub and offers, wherever possible, 5 real ales at all times along with lagers, keg cider, Guinness and a wide selection of bottled beers, wines and spirits.  We also offer fresh coffee, pots of tea and a wide range of soft drinks.

We are open every lunchtime and evening and all day at weekends. We serve meals and snacks from 12 till 2pm (Sunday 3pm) and from 6 till 8pm. Our food is fresh, locally sourced (wherever possible) and cooked to order.  The menu changes regularly and ranges from soup and sandwiches to hot meals and puddings, popular dishes include Homemade Steak and Ale Pie, Sausage, Egg and Chips, Chilli, Lasagne. There are always vegetarian options and  Sandra’s Sunday Roast  is legendry, much appreciated by locals and visitors alike.

The Miners is home to the mighty Brassington F.C., who play in the Ashbourne Summer League and return to the pub for food and liquid refreshment after every home game.

Every Wednesday is Quiz night - from 8:30 pm (ish!) A variety of locals present hand-crafted general knowledge quizzes.  Entry is free unless you want a shot at our roll-over snowball question which will cost you £1.  We also have occasional music or sports quizzes which are usually ‘fund raising’ events and advertised prior to the date.

A warm welcome is given to everyone but dogs must be kept on a lead please. Our menu caters for all sizes of appetites and wherever possible we cater for common food allergies.  In the winter there is always a fire blazing in the grate and in the summer our prize-winning beer garden is  popular with drinkers and diners alike.  We welcome walkers and cyclists but ask that if you are a large group, you ring ahead especially if you want to eat. Water bottles can be refilled, free of charge, just ask at the bar.

We have 3 Bed and Breakfast rooms, at present, a double, a twin and a single. These all have tea and coffee making facilities. Sandra will do her best to have your breakfast ready at a time to suit you.

Ian and Sandra look forward to seeing you next time you're passing through.
